About Me

Chaeyoon is a high school senior based in the New Jersey/New York City area.

Her interests lie primarily in human rights and cultural assimilation, especially at the crossroads of race, ethnicity, media, language, and history. Her past research includes work on the construction of transgender identities in digital communities, as well as historical analysis on women, like the Rani of Jhansi, who redefined gender during their lifetimes, but whose own stories were displaced and rewritten after their deaths. In her free time she likes to write bad poetry, read her horoscope, and play online games.
